Intern/Volunteer Program
RedBud Blossom Family Justice Center, a division of the Cobb District Attorney’s Office, provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder and child abuse, human trafficking, and stalking.
Volunteers and interns work in various capacities such as work alongside FJC staff to advocate for clients' needs within various social service and legal systems, assist with managing the front desk, including greeting clients, staff, partners and visitors, checking in clients, routing them to appropriate team members, and managing external phone and email correspondences; supporting FJC staff in providing immediate crisis intervention and safety planning for clients in distress, accompany clients to court proceedings, offering emotional support, help maintain accurate records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies, and participate in community initiatives, helping to raise awareness about domestic violence and other areas of purpose.
We are looking for caring and compassionate volunteers to assist in our agency's mission. Individuals who are passionate about serving others, have good communication skills, can work well in a team, are interested in working with our client base and area of purpose, have flexibility and adaptability, are willing to learn and take on a variety of tasks, and are reliable and punctual.
***All internships are unpaid and follow school semesters: Spring, Summer, and Fall
Interns must currently pursue a degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, and related fields, must be able to pass criminal and child abuse background checks, be proficient in Microsoft Office and other Windows- based platforms, have reliable transportation, and have flexibility to work in environments requiring long periods of sitting and /or standing.
